Davido PAID N350,000 for ‘Gobe’

Since Davido’s single Gobe dropped, it has topped the music charts. However, there had been speculations that Davido bought the song from a new artiste, Password, for N500, 000.

It was said that Password had earlier released the same song in 2011 before he sold it to Davido in 2013.

It’s learnt that Davido actually bought the song for N350, 000. OBO as he is popularly referred to did not know the song had been released before.

The Head of Management of HKN, Davido’s record label, Kamal Ajiboye, told Saturday Beats that Password approached them with the song and said he was sure Davido could do something good with it. When Davido heard the song, he modified it to suit his style.

He stressed that they never knew that the song had been released before.

Kamal said, “Password is a friend to our producer, Shizze. He told Shizze he had a song and Shizze asked him to bring it. Shizze told Davido to listen to the song and if he liked it, he could turn the song around.

“When Davido heard the song, he liked it. He removed something and added his own stuff to it. The guy never said the song had been released. If he did, we wouldn’t have used the song. Maybe because the song did not do well, that was why he brought it to us.

“We paid him N350, 000 for the song. We did the beat; the job Davido did to the song was even more that what he did to the song.

War within the HKN Gang: B-Red/Sina Rambo fight Davido for trying to outshine them

New day, new drama. Entertainment website THE NET is reporting that Davido’s cousins and label mates- Sina Rambo and B-Red had a nasty fight with their more popular cousin in Atlanta. According to THE NET’s story, the reason for the family feud stemmed from Sina Rambo and B-Red believing that Davido was doing little to promote their works and was intentionally releasing singles and music videos to overshadow their singles.

The fight between the cousins was physical which led to properties being damaged in their Atlanta home. Davido left his cousins in Atlanta to perform alongside Nas in Houston. After his performance he flew straight to Nigeria leaving B-Red and Sina Rambo stuck in Atlanta. B-Red is back in the country, Sina however is still in Atlanta.

B-Red who is Davido’s hype man hasn’t been with him on stage in his last couple of shows. He was also conspicuously absent at Davido’s mum’s remembrance. After the clash, B-Red and Sina Rambo are planning on leaving HKN.

B-Red and Sina Rambo are the sons of Davido’s father’s senior brother. Sina Rambo released his debut single ‘Ijo Sina’ featuring Davido last October. B-Red dropped his introductory single ‘Insane Girl’ featuring Davido in February.

Oaken Events is planning the wedding. Yvonne Nwosu's Vonne Couture is making the bridesmaids dresses. Mai Atafo is doing the suites for the groomsmen. The wedding will hold at the Sefinah Ballroom of Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Reception will hold at an exotic Island called Royal Island Beach. Guests will be conveyed in luxury boats from the wedding venue to the Island. The wedding after party will hold at Nigerian owned club, Kiza Nite Club.

The couple are inviting only 250 guests, and they will all be lodged in four different hotels - Frazier Suites, D Atlantis Hotels, Jumeirah Beach Hotel (where Annie and her people will stay) and Burj Al Arah (Where 2face, D’banj, Don Jazzy, Davido, Timaya, Iyanya, politicians and all them big boys will lodge).

Most guests will be leaving Nigeria on Thursday March 21 for the two-day wedding of the year, which will hold March 22nd, and 23rd and will cost over N50million.
