Beyonce: Supports Marriage Equality – “Give Same Rights To Gays”

With the issue of marriage equality prominently in the news - due to California's Supreme Court now considering the legality of Prop 8 - this superstar has posted a handwritten note on her Facebook account that reads:

"If you like it you should be able to put a ring on it."

And in case there was any doubt over the cause to which she's referring, Beyonce included as a caption: #WeWillUniteForMarriageEquality."

Last year, in the wake of President Obama endorsing the rights of gay couples to marry, Beyonce's husband also spoke out on this topic.

Saying the President's statements was "the right thing to do," Jay-Z added in a chat with CNN:

"You choose to love whoever you love. That's their business. It's no different than discriminating against blacks. It's discrimination, plain and simple."

Satan From "The Bible": President Obama Look-Alike?

A supposed resemblance between President Barack Obama and an actor who plays the Devil on HISTORY's new series The Bible is causing controversy.

Conservative commentator Glenn Beck was among the first to take to Twitter to note similarities between Obama and Mohamen Mehdi Ouzaani.

A slew of tweets, Facebook posts, commentaries and other responses soon followed, many from Obama supporters who weren't pleased by the comparison.

Beck, among others, say that Satan from The Bible miniseries - a monster hit for HISTORY with over 10 million viewers - resembles an older version of Obama.

Executive produced by Survivor and Apprentice creator Mark Burnett, the show and its reps had no comment on the matter, nor has the network.

UPDATE: HISTORY and the show's executive producers have issued a statement:

From the History Channel: “HISTORY has the highest respect for President Obama. The Bible is produced with an international and diverse cast of respected actors. It's unfortunate that anyone made this false connection. HISTORY’s The Bible is meant to enlighten people on its rich stories and deep history.”

From Mark Burnett: “This is utter nonsense. The actor who played Satan, Mehdi Ouzaani, is a highly acclaimed Moroccan actor. He has previously played parts in several Biblical epics - including Satanic characters long before Barack Obama was elected President.”

From Co-Executive Producer Roma Downey: "Both Mark and I have nothing but respect and love our President, who is a fellow Christian.  False statements such as these are just designed as a foolish distraction to try and discredit the beauty of the story of The Bible.”
